CaroVail, Inc. customizes crop enhancement and protection for hundreds of farmers across New York and Massachusetts. CaroVail has been in business for over 40 years, but were struggling lately with the outdated messaging and advertising, so they contacted us for assistance with their latest campaign.
As a partner, we wanted to fully understand their audience and what makes them tick. Through strategic questioning and our creative briefing process we found that farmers have a passion for their lifestyle that most people don’t understand and CaroVail wanted to show that connection through advertising.
We set out to make sure this campaign was honest and genuine to match their company mission and values.
We spent a great deal of time getting to know CaroVail, learning about their business and how and why they do what they do.

CaroVail had been creating and posting social media images and content in the past but weren’t getting great results. We know that a company with a long history can be perceived as old-fashioned and less than modern — which was far from the case with CaroVail.
So how do you relate how well CaroVail balances technology and the old values of customer service effectively? That was the challenge.
In the execution and tone of our work, we decided to balance the ads around a solid statement, “CaroVail has the most up-to-date equipment but they still get their hands dirty.”
These types of messages resonated well with their audience as they relayed CaroVail’s hands-on approach while introducing and connecting their technological services.
A series of social media video and still ads were implemented that maintained the tone from the newly formed campaign. The first four initial posts developed and implemented increased CaroVail’s Facebook followers by 12.5%, many of which are potential customers.
Of these followers, 60% watched the entirety of the videos, while CaroVail’s post reach increased to well over one-thousand per post – an increase of 113%. According to CaroVail, as a result of our partnership their phone lines were getting busier by the day — which is not a bad problem to have!

Branding isn’t just a logo and colors, it’s the full message, which includes photography. We worked hard to capture the mix of technology and the hands-on approach that CaroVail takes with its’ clients.
With over 45% of CaroVail’s web users accessing their site via a mobile or tablet device, we emphasized the importance of a responsive website design. We ensured that images reduced according to device size and that the important content remained at the top of the page to reduce scrolling.
